It is with a very heavy heart that I write today, about a really good friend of mine who is burying her little brother today. Matty was 11.
He has had troubles since before he was born, and due to various complications, was born brain damaged. Lou talked loads about him (altho I never actually met him) he recently developed Pneumonia and went into septic shock, which caused massive organ failure. He was on life support, but as the damage was too far gone, Nina & Brian (lou's mum and dad) had the heart breaking decision to remove his ventilator, and what would be, would be. The gorgeous little one battled for 11 days (which was way more than anyone could have expected) and eventually slipped away last week.
Lou is devastated as are the rest of her family, and hope that they are able to cope with such a loss. ( I will ask lou if she minds me putting a pic of matty here)
Thinking of you sweetie, and know that matty is in a better place. RIP little buddy!
